What started as an assignment for a few brochures quickly became a labor of love. Working with a very modest budget, we rallied musicians, composers, a filmmaker, an editor and a photographer to bring our overly ambitious campaign to life. We created TV, print, outdoor and online ads that starred the amazingly talented musicians and the equally amazing city that inspires them. Then, the DSO
hit hard times and the musicians went on strike. Disappointing, yes, but that didn’t stop us. When they went back to work, so did we. With no money for advertising, we called in the press and our campaign finally got its time in the spotlight. The campaign was written up and featured in The Detroit News, MLive and Real Detroit.
